PullRequest raises $8M in funding
PullRequest, an Austin startup launched in 2017 that uses automation and a network of professional developers to accelerate code reviews, secured $8 million in funding last Friday. Google’s VC arm Gradient Ventures led the Series A funding, which included participation from existing investors such as Y Combinator, Fika Ventures, Lynett Capital and Defy Partners. VR music startup TheWaveVR scores $6M Series A
Austin-based TheWaveVR announced on Thursday that it has raised a $6 million Series A led by RRE Ventures. The company is developing a platform for musicians to host live VR concerts that anyone from around the world can attend. Veros Systems collects $3M from investors
According to an SEC filing with the state, Veros Systems raised $3 million in funding from five investors on Friday. The company, which did not issue a statement regarding the funding, develops machinery operating monitoring platforms to measure performance and predict equipment failure. PeopleAdmin to merge with edtech company PowerSchool
Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm that owns Austin-based PeopleAdmin and California-based PowerSchool, has accepted an investment from buyout firm Onex to merge PeopleAdmin with PowerSchool. According to Reuters, individuals familiar with the deal said the newly merged edtech company will be valued at nearly $3 billion. Onex and Vista will share ownership of the combined company. Another scooter startup arrives on the streets of Austin
Just weeks after Bird, an LA-based, on-demand scooter service, went live in Austin, another provider has parked 200 electric scooters downtown available for use. LimeBike named Austin one of the first five cities in the U.S. to go live with its scooter service, Lime-S. Users can unlock scooters for $1 and will be charged 15 cents per mile while riding.
