A government software provider is moving to Austin. GovOS announced on Wednesday plans to relocate its headquarters from Dallas to Silicon Hills.

“We selected Austin due to the volume of SaaS talent that exists here,” Luke Wilson, senior vice president of sales at GovOS, told Built In via email. “From engineering, product to sale and customer success, we feel it will help us fuel our growth and better serve our customers.”

GovOS software helps local governments automate and streamline operations, and deliver digital services to community members and businesses. The company serves more than 600 governments across the United States.

The new Austin headquarters will open with more than 20 employees with plans to grow to 100 by the end of the year. This includes hiring at least 40 new employees.

“Demand for digital solutions is growing at an exponential pace right now, and we’re scaling to meet that demand,” Kevin Lafeber, president of GovOS, told Built In via email. “Getting the Austin team to this number by end of year means we’ll be well positioned to provide our customers with the best support possible, while also having a team that can educate the market on new solutions that are available.”

The company currently has about 100 employees and will keep its offices in Dallas, New York City and North Carolina.

GovOS is one of a handful of companies relocating or opening offices in Austin. iFly.vc relocated from San Francisco earlier this year, and Wayfair and TripActions announced plans in April to open offices here. Several other entities, such as Hyliion and SparkCognition, have also expanded their Austin footprint in recent months.
