Own mechanical architecture and production readiness for rugged outdoor IoT hardware, including plastic enclosures, mounts, seals, battery compartments, and instrument packaging. Create CAD models, drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and tolerance analyses; lead injection-molding tooling and DFM; coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers; execute harsh-environment verification; support safety documentation and NPI gates; and translate field issues into durable design improvements.

Provides technical and people leadership across firmware, electronics, and mechanical engineering for rugged embedded products. Establishes firmware and system architecture standards, drives AI-assisted engineering practices, oversees hardware-in-the-loop validation and production execution, and owns system-level tradeoffs, field issues, budgets, documentation, and team development. Requires deep C/C++ embedded experience, cross-disciplinary engineering fluency, product lifecycle ownership, and at least 10 years developing shipped products.
