Leads mechanical design and development of orthopedic surgical instruments and shoulder implants from concept through final release. Supervises engineers and co-ops, develops CAD models and detailed drawings, manages design verification and validation, maintains Design History Files, and ensures FDA and ISO compliance. Collaborates with surgeons, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory teams, customers, and suppliers. Establishes project schedules and budgets, evaluates prototypes, applies GD&T and tolerance analysis, and supports testing and process improvements.

The role involves participating in all stages of design and development for medical devices used in Total Shoulder Arthroplasty, collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating product designs, ensuring compliance, and managing project schedules.

Lead technical architecture and execution for medical device mechatronic systems—integrating software, electronics, optics, sensors, and algorithms. Guide cross-functional teams through design, verification, regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercialization while mentoring engineers and evaluating emerging enabling technologies.
