Develops orthopedic surgical instruments and implants for total shoulder arthroplasty from concept through final design release. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, mechanism design, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, prototyping, testing, design verification and validation, risk assessments, Design History Files, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The role also supports project planning, surgeon feedback, manufacturing improvements, supplier coordination, and presentations to customers and stakeholders.

Develops orthopedic implants and surgical instruments for total shoulder arthroplasty, contributing across concept development, CAD modeling, testing, design verification and validation, documentation, and product release. Collaborates with surgeons, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, supply chain, marketing, and suppliers. Maintains Design History Files, supports FDA and ISO compliance, manages project schedules and budgets, develops prototypes and engineering drawings, and participates in customer evaluations, cadaver labs, and surgeon meetings.

Organize and execute mechanical testing for orthopedic products, ensuring accurate data, compliant reports, and laboratory operations. Operate MTS, Instron, and ADMET systems; design custom test fixtures; coordinate external vendors; support FDA submission testing and ASTM standards; perform linear finite element analysis; and assist with failure analysis, microscopy, and student engineer oversight.
