Advises management on project issues, guides junior engineers, and makes technical decisions independently. The role focuses on Python backend development using frameworks such as Django or Flask, with opportunities to work on distributed systems, cloud platforms, databases, messaging, CI/CD, testing, and observability.

Leads technical direction for Venmo’s identity platform, including authentication, authorization, identity verification, and fraud risk systems. Defines architecture and engineering standards, drives cross-team initiatives, mentors senior engineers, and partners with product, legal, compliance, and security teams. Owns service performance, availability, scalability, regulatory alignment, incident support, and secure cloud infrastructure.
