Teams at Step

Build and deploy machine learning models for risk and fraud detection. Lead technical efforts in the risk and fraud domain, use SQL and Python for data preparation and production code, design statistically sound experiments, evaluate model performance, and partner with Operations to respond to evolving financial threats.

Own and evolve Step’s visual identity across product, marketing, social, advertising, physical products, and brand experiences. Create polished static and motion assets, develop scalable visual systems and brand guidelines, partner with Product Design and Marketing, provide art direction and mentorship, and explore AI-assisted creative workflows while maintaining high design quality.

Own backend features from inception through production, develop and improve Kotlin services, write maintainable and well-tested code, and design scalable, reliable distributed systems within a small cross-functional team.
