Oversees hospital-wide nighttime patient flow, bed placement, transfers, staffing, float-pool assignments, and resource utilization. Collaborates with patient care managers and charge nurses to align staffing with patient census, acuity, and employee competencies. Serves as a clinical resource and hospital-wide leader for nursing staff, ancillary personnel, patients, families, and operational events.

Graduate nurses participate in a structured residency transitioning them into professional pediatric, adult cardiac, or obstetric nursing. Responsibilities include assessing patients and families, developing and evaluating care plans, administering medications and treatments, educating families, documenting care, recognizing changes in patient status, collaborating with care teams, managing resources, and pursuing professional development.

Provides direct pediatric nursing care, including patient assessment, triage, examinations, treatments, medication and immunization administration, specimen collection, laboratory testing, documentation, referrals, and patient-family education. Collaborates with healthcare providers and the care team to deliver age-appropriate care within established protocols and scope of practice.
