Founded on a single farm in Austin, Texas, in 2007, Vital Farms is the leading U.S. brand of pasture-raised eggs by retail dollar sales and works with approximately 625 family farms. Vital Farms cares deeply about improving the lives of people, animals, and the planet through ethically produced foods. The company practices conscious capitalism by prioritizing the long-term benefits of each of its stakeholders, including farmers and suppliers, animals and the environment, customers and consumers, communities and crew members, and shareholders. In 2017, Vital Farms opened Egg Central Station (ECS) in Springfield, Missouri, its first egg washing and packing facility. In 2022, it expanded ECS and later earned a LEED® Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its water conservation and energy efficiency.
