The Senior UX Designer will create simple, accessible user experiences for Wikimedia’s Reader Growth team. Responsibilities include prototyping, experimentation, user research, design system development, and collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, readers, and communities. The role contributes to product strategy and design processes while improving learning and engagement for new and casual Wikipedia readers.

Engage online communities and manage social media conversations for Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation. Write daily social copy, moderate comments, respond to cultural trends, develop community playbooks and brand voice guidelines, surface volunteer stories, track short-form video trends, monitor audience sentiment, and support performance reporting and experimentation. The role requires strong writing, platform fluency, judgment, cultural awareness, and familiarity with social media analytics and listening tools.

Designs and develops accessible, inclusive digital learning experiences for Wikimedia contributors worldwide. Partners with product teams, researchers, communities, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs, prototype solutions, and improve courses, multimedia, AI-enabled support, workshops, and embedded guidance. Uses learning science, user-centered design, analytics, feedback, and experimentation to strengthen participation and evolve the Foundation’s learning strategy.
