2027 BNY Summer Internship Program – Office of the COO  

 

The Chief Operating Office brings together professionals focused on operational excellence, business management, governance, execution discipline, AI and innovation, and enterprise enablement. The practice helps ensure that teams across BNY are equipped to deliver consistent, efficient, and well-governed outcomes while supporting the broader goals of the Platform Operating Model. It serves as a professional home for colleagues whose work strengthens how the organization operates, executes priorities, manages risk, adopts innovative solutions, and drives continuous improvement. By connecting practitioners across teams, the Practice promotes consistency, capability building, and the sharing of best practices. 

 

As an intern to the Office of the COO, you will gain exposure to how a global financial services organization operates at scale. This role is designed for students who are curious about business management, operational strategy, governance, technology, and the execution disciple required to move enterprise priories forward.  

 

What you will do 

  • Support day-to-day activities and strategic initiatives within the Chief Operating Office (COO) 

  • Conduct research and analysis on operational processes, performance metrics, and business priorities 

  • Help track action items, risks, milestones, and deliverables across ongoing projects 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency 

  • Assist with documentation of business procedures, workflows, and governance materials 

  • Support AI initiatives by researching use cases, documenting opportunities, and helping teams understand where adoption could improve processes or decision-making.

Program eligibility:  

  • Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program with a strong focus on business-related and/or technology-related majors preferred  

  • Graduating in Dec 2027 or May 2028 (U.S.)   

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better     

  • Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (now or in the future) in the countrywhere applying.
