About The Deep View

Founded in May of 2023, The Deep View is a newsletter-first media brand that delivers breaking news and insights on artificial intelligence to hundreds of thousands of professionals every day. Our content, newsletters, and podcasts provide professionals with the critical analysis and information they need to make sense of what's happening in AI and how it affects their lives.

About the Role

We've worked with companies like Nvidia, Bill, Hubspot, OctoAI, Superhuman, Brave, Bubble, and countless others to help them put their brand or product in front of their target ICP, with The Deep View as serving as their trusted medium. We're now looking for an Account Executive to join our sales team and continue to scale our outbound sales motion.

As an Account Executive, you are a proven hunter & sales closer with a track record of quota attainment and overachievement. You have experience working in full-cycle sales, from prospecting to proposals and renewals. We believe in aligning incentives with our customers, and you will embody this throughout the sales process, engaging with C-Level executives and key decision-makers at startups and enterprises alike. This role will primarily focus on increasing the sales volume of dedicated placements within newsletters, including full email newsletter takeovers and sponsored sections. There will also be other sellable channels at your disposal, including web and social.

As an early team member, you will also have the chance to help build the sales engine and shape the sales strategy that drives the company's growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and deploy a direct sales and partnerships strategy, including prospecting, pipeline management, upselling, and renewals

  • Scale the volume of direct partnerships for primary, secondary, and tertiary email placements based on flat fees

  • Build relationships with brand partners, preparing and presenting proposals to prospective partners

  • Drive revenue for The Deep View, owning the entire sales cycle through close, and leveraging sales methodologies to uncover customer needs and pain points

  • Articulate The Deep View’s value proposition using appropriate sales qualification standards, and develop strategies for closing opportunities

  • Own sales activity and monthly revenue forecasting in Hubspot

What You’ve Done Before:
  • Minimum 3 years of quota-carrying direct fixed-rate media sales experience in a full cycle closing role with strong prospecting, qualifying, negotiating, and closing skills

  • Experience closing upwards of 20 deals a quarter, with an average deal size of $10K

  • Ability to discuss The Deep View's value proposition with C-level executives, marketing teams, and decision-makers

  • Experience with outbound prospecting and conducting sales calls

  • Consultative sales approach and comfortable leveraging analytical & quantitative skills

  • Consistent track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced environment

  • High adaptability and understanding of change within the evolution of a startup

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:
  • Experience selling newsletters, podcasts, or social media campaigns on fixed rates

Compensation

The annual salary/OTE range for the target level for this role is $160,000-$230,000 (50/50 split) + benefits

Benefits (for U.S.-based full-time employees)
  • Remote operations with the ability to work in the time zone of your choice

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Health Insurance

  • $100/mo health and wellness stipend

  • $100/mo WFH stipend

  • 1x/year in-person team retreat
