About the Role

We are seeking a relationship-driven Account Manager to own customer accounts after the initial equipment sale is completed. In this role, you will ensure customers successfully integrate our equipment into their operations while identifying opportunities to expand their fleet and deepen the partnership over time.

Once the sales team closes the first deal, you will become the primary point of contact for the customer, responsible for long-term account management, retention, and growth. Your focus will be to maximize the lifetime value of each customer by ensuring they achieve success with our equipment and continue to invest in our solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the construction or heavy equipment industry and enjoys building long-term partnerships with contractors, fleet managers, and operations leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of customer accounts immediately following the close of the initial equipment sale.

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned customers.

  • Ensure a smooth transition from the sales process to ongoing account support.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with contractors, fleet managers, and project leaders.

  • Conduct regular account check-ins to ensure equipment is performing well in the field.

  • Address customer concerns and coordinate with service, parts, and support teams when needed.

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and long-term retention.

  • Identify opportunities to expand customer fleets across projects, job sites, or divisions.

  • Recommend additional equipment, attachments, services, or upgrades based on customer needs.

  • Work with internal teams to support expansion opportunities and repeat purchases.

  • Monitor customer usage, projects, and upcoming opportunities.

  • Anticipate future equipment needs based on project pipelines and fleet utilization.

  • Proactively engage customers to support their long-term equipment strategy.

  • Partner closely with sales, field teams, service technicians, and parts departments.

  • Provide feedback from customers to improve products, services, and support.

  • Maintain accurate account records and opportunities in CRM systems.

  • Willingness to travel within the United States to visit customer job sites, offices, and project locations as needed.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of account management, equipment sales, or construction industry experience

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts effectively

  • Comfortable working directly with contractors and job site personnel

  • Willingness to travel throughout the country (approximately 30–50%) to visit customer job sites, fleet yards, and offices to support account growth and customer success.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in construction equipment, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment

  • Background with equipment dealerships, rental companies, or OEM manufacturers

  • Experience using CRM tools such as Pipedrive or HubSpot

  • Understanding of contractor workflows and jobsite operations
