Acuity is seeking an Acuity Business Excellence Portfolio Director to lead the strategic management of its Business Excellence portfolio. This role holds primary responsibility for overseeing key initiatives across all business areas and ensuring that resourced, business-aligned teams deliver project investments in alignment with enterprise priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Own and manage the complete lifecycle of the portfolio, actively steering each initiative to meet Acuity’s overarching objectives. Frequently communicate plans and progress with business leaders across the organization as well as the officer team.
  • Prioritize projects based on strategic impact, resource needs, and speed to delivery while making real time adjustments to maximize portfolio value.
  • Guide portfolio of work to optimize organizational impact and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Deliver comprehensive portfolio health reports, highlighting progress, impact, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders to shape initiatives and projects, regular engagement with leadership and stakeholders to provide insights, solicit feedback, and communicate the “why” behind project direction.
  • Partner with peer portfolio directors to create a wholistic view of Acuity’s project portfolio management, and to share practices that empower teams to create the most impact (outcome-focused, shared ownership).
  • Foster ongoing dialogue, aligning expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring the portfolio of work reflects strategic objectives.
  • Balance strategic oversight with tactical execution, ensuring each project advances in alignment with strategic priority.
  • Translate high level strategy into actionable steps and outcomes, ensuring that initiatives deliver measurable value.
  • Work hand in hand with business area leaders to ensure portfolio initiatives align with enterprise direction and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate across the functional areas of the organization to incorporate cross functional insights and wholistic portfolio outcomes.
  • Manage and report on accountability of initiative ownership, helping owners and stakeholders to navigate challenges and ensure delivery of business value.
  • Highly regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Demonstrated success managing complex, high-impact portfolios in dynamic, cross-functional settings, driving alignment and enabling informed decision-making across the enterprise.
  • Enterprise-minded, with a keen ability to connect project execution to operational excellence, future readiness, and strategic alignment with Acuity’s objectives.
  • Exceptional strategic communication, data analysis, and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to synthesize insights and influence senior leadership.
  • Deep expertise in project management and execution, anchored in best practices and continuous improvement.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Set direction and actively manage the Acuity Business Excellence portfolio by navigating competing priorities, optimizing project outcomes, and leveraging cross functional synergies to ensure delivery of strategic value.
  • Promote consistent customer-focused behaviors within the organization.
  • Balance stakeholder expectations with a focused commitment to organizational objectives, driving impact across the enterprise.
  • Outstanding communication and executive briefing skills.
  • Cultivate diverse relationships across the organization that enable cross-department dialog and collaboration.
  • Leverages disciplined experimentation and a test and learn philosophy to spur innovation and learning to advance Acuity’s strategic portfolio of work.
  • Proactively pursue leadership development and continuous professional growth.

This job is classified as exempt.

The salary range for this position is $145,000- $175,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
