The Blue Acorn iCi team is searching for an AJO Technical Consultant. The technical consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing customer journeys within Adobe Journey Optimizer to support personalized, data-driven marketing experiences. This role combines technical platform expertise with marketing technology strategy, enabling clients to activate real-time data, orchestrate cross-channel journeys, and leverage decisioning, segmentation, and event-based triggers.

The consultant works closely with marketing, data, and engineering teams to understand business requirements, translate them into scalable AJO configurations, and ensure proper integration with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), data sources, identity namespaces, and downstream activation channels. The role includes solution design, technical implementation, troubleshooting, and best-practice guidance across schemas, datasets, offer decisioning, customer profiles, consent management, and message execution.

Success in this role requires strong knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform architecture, API-based integrations, customer data workflows, and modern personalization approaches. The AJO Technical Consultant acts as a trusted advisor, enabling organizations to mature their use of real-time customer orchestration and maximize value from their Adobe Experience Cloud investment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement AJO on time and on budget using database technologies, programming languages, and web technologies. This is a hands-on development role. 

  • Collaborate with other Adobe consultants from AJO and other Marketing Cloud solutions, both in the U.S. and off-shore, to design solutions that increase customer retention, loyalty, and acquisition 

  • Enable customers and partners on Adobe AJO best practices through a combination of side-by-side coaching and remote enablement 

  • Take ownership of delivering successful customers for small and medium sized projects 

  • Create referenceable customers who are eager to share their successes with the marketing community 
     
     

Requirements: 

  • Ability to articulate and convey technical concepts to a mixed audience of senior technical and business executives 

  • Proficiency in implementing enterprise software 

  • Proficiency in SQL development including ETL implementations 

  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (JavaScript preferred) 

  • Familiarity with XML 

  • Ability to travel to customer sites may be needed (25-50%)
