About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified attorney as the second legal hire for the legal function, providing both high-level legal advice and strategic coordination across the team. This role offers broad exposure to corporate governance, contracts, IP, privacy, legal operations, and cross-border matters. 

The AGC/DGC will provide hands-on, generalist legal while leading strategic initiatives, coordinating priorities across the legal team, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly independent, proactive, and capable of handling complex legal matters with cross-border implications.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Serve as senior legal counsel and Chief of Staff for the legal function, providing strategic oversight and coordinating initiatives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Advise on corporate governance, board matters, and shareholder processes.
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property and privacy matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and improve legal operations initiatives, working closely with contractors and external counsel.
  • Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions for business teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and business objectives.

Requirements 
  • Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
  • 7-12+ years of generalist experience across functions including corporate governance, M&A, commercial contracts, IP, privacy, and legal operations.
  • Exposure to cross-border or multi-jurisdictional legal matters.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in SaaS or technology sector preferred.
  • Privacy program experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to coordinate with North America and EMEA teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative, independent, and decisive.
  • Highly detailed and process oriented.
  • Strong integrity and ethical standards.

Requirements - Preferable
  • Senior level experience in legal department of a fast-paced, hyperscaling SAAS or technology company
