The AI Enablement Lead will serve as a key bridge between business teams seeking to leverage AI and IT functions responsible for delivering safe, effective, and sustainable solutions. You will work across multiple business units and technology teams to assess AI proposals, prioritize opportunities, define delivery approaches, and guide decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on understanding of modern AI technologies, enterprise architecture, data platforms, cybersecurity considerations, and vendor capabilities. You will help mature and establish enhanced governance, standards, and repeatable processes that enable innovation while managing risk.

Success in this role requires excellent business relationship management skills, impactful presence, strong communication abilities, and the ability to influence without direct authority across a complex global organization.

Responsibilities
  • Shape and evolve the Diebold Nixdorf IT AI enablement strategy in alignment with business priorities and corporate objectives.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, refine, and prioritize AI use cases that create measurable value.
  • Evaluate AI proposals submitted across the company for feasibility, business benefit, risk, architecture fit, and delivery readiness.
  • Coordinate cross-functional IT responses involving infrastructure, security, data, architecture, legal, procurement, and delivery teams.
  • Recommend appropriate solution approaches, including buy vs. build decisions, vendor selection pathways, and implementation models.
  • Strengthen intake, review, and governance processes for AI opportunities to improve speed, consistency, and control.
  • Ensure AI initiatives align with cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory, and responsible AI standards.
  • Develop executive-ready business cases, recommendations, roadmaps, and status reporting.
  • Track AI market trends, emerging technologies, and vendor capabilities to inform strategy and opportunity identification.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across business and IT functions.
  • Support change management and adoption planning to maximize value realization from AI investments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the VP, IT Strategy & Planning and broader leadership team on AI priorities and execution.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience in IT, digital transformation, enterprise technology, consulting, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in AI, analytics, automation, digital products, or emerging technology enablement.
  • Strong understanding of current AI technologies, including generative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI platforms.
  • Experience assessing technology opportunities and translating business requirements into practical solutions.
  • Strong business relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Credible technical background with working knowledge of enterprise applications, cloud platforms, data architecture, integration, cybersecurity, and governance.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment without direct people management authority.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including business case development, prioritization, and vendor evaluation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to operate independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in global or highly matrixed organizations preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000.  Actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, geographic location, and relevant experience. Certain roles may include additional components beyond base salary, such as incentive opportunities or other forms of variable compensation. Details of any such components will be discussed during the interview process and will be governed by the applicable plan documents.
