The Opportunity

At dbt Labs, data is the product, the language, and the mission. As our GTM Automation Engineer, you'll be the architect behind improving the productivity of our GTM organization through AI-powered and AI-assisted GTM workflows. This is a high-impact, high-agency role sitting at the intersection of engineering, automation, and go-to-market strategy, directly influencing revenue performance, sales productivity, pipeline generation, and conversion rates.

You'll partner with senior GTM leadership and GTM Operations to build the AI-powered infrastructure that defines how dbt Labs goes to market. You'll own the full lifecycle: uncovering inefficiencies, defining what "better" looks like, designing the solution, and building, shipping, and iterating. This role is ideal for someone who thinks like a sales leader, works like a product manager and builds like an engineer, and who wants their work to directly move the needle on revenue growth.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Design, implement, and scale the initial Go-to-Market (GTM) AI program, developing complex AI capabilities and agents that automate GTM use cases and workflows to materially improve productivity and scalability.
  • Build and deploy AI agents that reduce manual data entry and enable more sophisticated, scalable outbound personalization.
  • Create and launch programs that enable the broader GTM organization to increase its understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities, driving wide-scale impact through high-value use cases.
  • Implement AI-driven outbound programs using tools such as Clay, Glean, Claude, and LLM APIs to automate account research, data enrichment, and personalized outreach sequences in support of marketing pipeline goals.
  • Partner directly with GTM operations leaders across Revenue Operations, Marketing Operations, Enablement, and related functions to develop a deep understanding of current processes, systems, and procedures, identify productivity opportunities, and apply AI to drive measurable operational and sales impact.
  • Rapidly prototype AI solutions for manual processes, measure outcomes, and iterate to improve GTM funnel performance and conversion.
  • Work with senior stakeholders across dbt Labs to identify strategic and organizational opportunities where AI can drive meaningful business uplift.

You are a good fit if you have:

  • 3+ years leading or driving automation programs focused on AI automation.
  • 8+ years of experience embedded in GTM Engineering, Marketing Operations, Revenue Operations, or similar teams, with a deep understanding of business operations and workflows and a strong track record of partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience building a new function or capability within an organization from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify complex organizational opportunities and design strategic, scalable solutions using AI automation.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI and automation to GTM problems, with the ability to walk through concrete examples and business impact.
  • Advanced experience with modern AI and automation tools such as Clay, n8n, Zapier, Gumloop, or GPT/Claude APIs.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Marketo.
  • A strong understanding of the sales funnel and the business logic behind the data being moved and operationalized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a range of levels and functions.
  • A bias toward action — you move from idea → experiment → solution quickly and thrive in ambiguity.
