Position Overview

SoftSnow is looking for a thoughtful, principled, and policy-minded AI Ethicist to help shape how artificial intelligence is deployed across client environments. As part of our Responsible AI practice, the AI Ethics Officer ensures that all AI solutions reflect core ethical values — including fairness, transparency, accountability, and human oversight.

You’ll work closely with AI Analysts, Trainers, and Trust Authenticators to assess the ethical impact of AI implementations, build client-specific governance frameworks, and monitor ongoing compliance with ethical standards. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in ethics, law, or social science who are ready to apply their expertise to one of the most transformative technologies of our time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain SoftSnow’s AI ethics guidelines and frameworks tailored to client industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, public sector).
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to assess ethical risks and integrate safeguards into the design and deployment phases.
  • Develop and deliver AI ethics assessments for models, use cases, and system behaviors.
  • Partner with Trust Authenticators to ensure explainability, bias monitoring, and transparency across AI decision points.
  • Stay abreast of global developments in AI regulation, algorithmic accountability, and human rights standards.
  • Lead internal and client-facing training sessions on Responsible AI best practices.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Public Policy, Law, AI Governance, or related field.

Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in an ethics, compliance, legal, or risk role — ideally within tech or AI-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and their social implications.
  • Experience working with governance boards, compliance audits, or policy development.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Deep understanding of fairness, bias, explainability, and human-in-the-loop concepts.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate ethical principles into actionable technical requirements.
  • Comfort working across disciplines - from engineering to executive leadership.
  • Credibility and confidence when engaging with high-stakes clients or regulated sectors.
