Principal Electrical Engineer-Power

Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing, debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will develop solutions, and be a Subject Matter Expert, in power-related technologies related to Dell's product portfolio offerings within our Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) organization. You will collaborate with various functional teams on power technology/topology, power supply development, issue triage and technical application support.

You will:

  • Manage power solution development to support system development needs and requirements
  • Engage with technology partners on power application and technology trends to obtain industry advantage to build world-class power solutions
  • Work with architecture/concept teams on power supply features, new topology and applications for future power applications
  • Support cross-function engagement by providing subject matter expertise

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in a server power supply/application related design field or equivalent skill; must include experience with analog and digital circuitry design
  • Skilled in embedded system design using micro-controllers
  • Familiarity with power topology and component applications such as semiconductors and magnetic applications
  • Experienced in dealing with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Excellent program management, communication and presentation skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and simulation tools e.g., MATLAB, SPICE and allegro

Compensation

Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Base Salary Range for this role in is $139,400.00 -$180,400.00.
