The Basics:

Tanium is seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Analyst Relations to lead and evolve our global engagement with top-tier industry analysts. This role is pivotal in shaping external perceptions, influencing market narratives, and driving recognition of Tanium’s differentiated approach to Autonomous IT.

Reporting to the VP of Analyst Relations, the Director will work cross-functionally with product marketing, executive leadership, and sales to deliver high-impact analyst engagements that support Tanium’s business objectives and category leadership.

We value flexibility in how our team works. This position is fully remote for those outside of an office location. Those located near an office will follow a hybrid schedule, which requires in‑person attendance several days each week in one of our office locations.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead development and execution of Analyst Relations strategy that directly supports Tanium’s Autonomous IT corporate strategy, GTM priorities, and long-term market positioning.
  • Own relationships with primary, secondary, and tertiary analysts across endpoint management, exposure management, security operations and adjacent domains, elevating Tanium’s voice in major research narratives.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize analyst engagement opportunities that create competitive advantage, accelerate category leadership, and bolster customer confidence.
  • Define rigorous KPIs and measurement frameworks for the AR program; report on influence over evaluations, perception shifts, deal outcomes, and executive-level impact.
  • Synthesize analyst insights and market trends into clear, prioritized recommendations for product, sales, and executive teams to inform roadmap and positioning.
  • Oversee all core AR activities including briefings, inquiries, advisory sessions, evaluations, document reviews, and analyst events, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagements.
  • Select and optimize third-party tools and platforms to scale AR operations, automate tracking, and improve relationship management and reporting.
  • Steward Tanium’s participation in high-impact analyst evaluations and RFIs such as Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester Wave.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with product marketing, corporate communications, sales, customer success, legal, and executive leadership to ensure timely, market-ready messaging and materials.
  • Partner with SMEs and product leaders to craft executive-level narratives and POVs that showcase Tanium’s innovation, outcomes, and roadmap differentiation.
  • Prepare and coach senior spokespeople and executives for analyst interactions, ensuring disciplined messaging, confident delivery, and strategic follow-through.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the business on analyst sentiment, competitive positioning, and opportunities to influence market perceptions; represent AR in leadership planning and GTM reviews.
  • Build, mentor, and scale an analyst relations function; set hiring priorities, allocate budget, and establish processes that elevate team performance and cross-functional influence.

We’re looking for someone with:

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B tech, preferably in cybersecurity, IT operations, or enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated success leading AR programs or related strategic communications roles with measurable impact on market perception and evaluations.

  • Self‑starting leader who builds alignment, motivates cross‑functional partners, and develops AR talent.
