What You'll Do: 

  •  Leverage advanced data analytics to derive insights and optimize credit strategies;  

  • Partner with Engineering on building effective risk model and credit risk capabilities;  

  • Monitor portfolio as well as macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance.Drive adjustments to our underwriting and marketing strategies to mitigate risk;

  • Oversee adjustments to underwriting strategies to mitigate risk, advising on best  practices and ensuring the strategies align with risk management goals;  Manage the team’s involvement in supporting new product formation and market  exploration; 

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to a team of credit analysts, fostering  skill development and ensuring high performance in credit strategy initiatives;

  • Oversee team resources and manage workload distribution, ensuring timely  completion of projects and alignment with organizational goals. 

  • May telecommute. 

  • Supervises direct reports. 


What we look for:  

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science,  Engineering or related field & 3 years of experience in the following:  

  • SQL, Python, or other scripting languages; 

  • Data mining and data visualization; 

  • Machine learning techniques for credit risk management; 

  • Leveraging advanced analytics to develop credit strategies; and 

  • Monitoring model performance. 


Base Pay Grade – O 

Equity Grade - 7 

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses  on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of  factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. 

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards,  monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100%  subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.) 

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $215,000 to $265,000

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $191,000 – $241,000
