Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Apigee Developer to design, develop, manage, and troubleshoot APIs across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will be responsible for the full API lifecycle on the Apigee (Edge / X)platform, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security for enterprise-grade systems. 


Key Responsibilities 

Design, develop and deploy API proxies on the Apigee Edge / Apigee X platform across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. 

Implement and manage Apigee policies for authentication, traffic management, caching, transformation, and error/fault handling. 

Troubleshoot API runtime issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply fixes to maintain system stability and performance. 

Collaborate with backend, middleware, and frontend teams to integrate APIs with various systems (REST, SOAP, microservices). 

Configure and manage Apigee environments, virtual hosts, keystores, truststores, and environment configurations. 

Monitor API performance, availability, and logs; work closely with DevOps/Operations teams to ensure platform stability. 

Participate in CI/CD pipeline integration and manage deployments using tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. 

Ensure adherence to API security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, TLS/SSL) and enterprise API governance models. 

Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of APIs, proxy flows, environment configurations, and deployment processes. 


Required Skills & Experience 

5–8 years of hands-on experience with API design and development using the Apigee Edge / Apigee X platform. 

Proven experience across on-premises, cloud (GCP), and hybrid Apigee deployment models. 

Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications. 

Experience developing and debugging custom policies using JavaScript, Python, or Java. 

Solid knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS/SSL, and other API security frameworks. 

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and build tools (Maven, Jenkins). 

Excellent troubleshooting skills — able to identify and resolve production runtime and performance issues. 
 

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 39,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 137,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
This position is not available for independent contractors
