About Engine
Engine is the all-in-one travel and spend management platform trusted by 38K+ businesses and groups representing 1.8M+ travelers. We're the retailer and the rails of business travel, one of the fastest-growing companies in travel tech, built on a decade of proprietary technology, supply, and pricing no one else can replicate. Other travel and AI companies run on our infrastructure to book real trips, hold rates, and move payments, without building any of it themselves. We built it, AI-forward at every layer, from how travelers book to how the rails run.
That work has earned recognition as one of Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators (2025), TravelTech's Reservation Platform of the Year (2026), and one of Built In's Best Places to Work (2020–2026).
We're looking for bold, ambitious people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel. Working here, you can expect exponential growth, an ambitious pace, full ownership, and high-caliber colleagues who push you to do the best work of your career. Every hire raises the bar.

Come outpace the ordinary and build the future of travel with us.

Your Mission

As Engine's Application Administrator, you own the day-to-day health of the systems that Finance, Accounting, and People run on — NetSuite, UKG, Adaptive Insights, Numeric, Zip, and Tray.io. You'll keep close on track when a workflow breaks, keep access clean as the org grows, and keep our systems talking to each other reliably enough that the rest of the team doesn't have to think about them. You'll translate business needs from Finance, Accounting, and People teams into system configurations and ship small fixes quickly.

Engine is fast-paced and high-growth, and this role sits at the intersection of the systems and the humans who depend on them. AI and automation are woven into how you work every day — not a project you get to eventually. When you spot repeatable manual work in the systems you own, you build the automation to eliminate it, close-over-close.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end administration of NetSuite, UKG, Adaptive Insights, Numeric, Zip, and Tray.io — configuration, workflows, integration health, and day-to-day maintenance.
  • Own access protocols for restricted financial and HR data — user provisioning, role and permission changes, and quarterly access reviews.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and People stakeholders to translate business needs into system configurations, workflows, and process improvements — bringing proposed solutions along with the problems you surface.
  • Own the systems layer of cross-functional projects — partnering with FinTech engineering on integrations and technical initiatives that touch Finance, Accounting or People systems.
  • Build and use AI/automation tooling every day to eliminate manual work across the systems you own.
  • Maintain living documentation of system configurations, workflows, and change decisions so institutional knowledge doesn't live in one person's head.

What You'll Bring to Engine

  • 3+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration with real depth in configuration across roles, workflows, and permissions.
  • AI-native operator. Demonstrated experience using AI tools to eliminate manual work in the last 6–12 months. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Multi-system experience. Direct admin experience across multiple financial and HR systems, including hands-on HRIS administration. Doesn't have to match our exact stack.
  • Experience partnering with Accounting, Finance, and People teams — comfortable translating close, reporting, and business process needs into system configurations and improvements.
  • Bias toward speed. You resolve issues in hours or days, not weeks, and make judgment calls on lower-stakes decisions without waiting for permission.
  • Comfortable managing access in financial and HR systems — user provisioning, role changes, and quarterly access reviews — following defined access protocols.
  • Sharp communication. You can explain a systems change to a non-technical Finance or People stakeholder without jargon. You write documentation people actually use.
  • Start-to-finish ownership. You don't leave work in someone else's inbox. You surface problems with proposed solutions attached and close the loop.
