Join our Team as an Applications Project Manager!

The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Applications Project Manager to lead complex, customer-facing projects involving Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) products, including automation and operator assist technologies. In this role, you will manage projects from prequalification through implementation, ensuring successful delivery aligned with customer expectations and business objectives. Each project represents a collaborative effort between you, our nationwide distribution network, internal engineering teams, and—most importantly—our customers. You will serve as the primary point of ownership, driving alignment across stakeholders, mitigating risk, and ensuring projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role requires a high level of autonomy, strong leadership presence, and the ability to navigate complex challenges while influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading high-impact initiatives, this role offers strong visibility and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead external customer-facing projects in the deployment of TMHNA products, including automation and operator assist technologies.
  • Own the development and execution of customer schedules, project plans, and required documentation.
  • Conduct customer kick-off and status meetings to provide visibility into objectives, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Partner with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with and influence internal and external senior and executive-level stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Analyze current processes and drive continuous improvement in solution delivery and customer experience.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Apply proactive leadership and creative problem-solving to maintain alignment across cost, schedule, and resource targets.
  • Drive accountability and transparency across stakeholders through effective communication and project governance.
  • Travel up to 60% as required to support project execution and customer engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical field, or 8 + years of equivalent work experience
  • 5 + years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, technical projects from initiation through implementation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented in challenging situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to present project materials to both technical and non-technical audiences

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience managing customer-facing automation or technical product deployments
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior and executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities in complex environments
  • Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Proven ability to operate independently with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships

Where and When You’ll Work:

  • This role is fully remote. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a passion for what you do.
  • Travel up to 60% is expected to support project execution and customer engagement.
