The BSI Regulatory Services (RS) team ensures consumer safety through conformity assessments, while supporting timely market access for their clients' products globally.

About the role

The AI Client Manager (AI Management Systems, AIMS) will be a member of the AI BU Operational Delivery Team and will work closely with clients’ AIMS functional representatives in performing the necessary assessment of their AIMS capabilities. They will also work closely with the AI Notified Body and AI Operational team members for the delivery of AI services and Certification maintenance, in line with regulatory requirements.

Purpose of the position

  • The role of the AIMS Auditor will be to work with BSI clients globally in auditing their AI Management System processes, capabilities, standards and policy adherence in line with ISO/IEC 42001. They then create an audit report & present it to the client.
  • They will need to work collaboratively with the wider AI team to ensure integrity of the certification schemes and services provided to the clients, and provide specialist regulatory, operational and strategic support for AIMS services.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Ensure that customers’ business needs are met, prepare audit reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure client understanding of the audit decision and of any non-conformities identified.
  • Recommend the issue, re-issue or withdrawal of certificates.
  • Continually demonstrate a professional and engaging approach whilst auditing clients.
  • Lead audit teams as required, adequately briefing team members to maintain quality of service and effective working relationships.
  • Maintain and enhance appropriate professional qualification status in relevant disciplines.
  • Be an active member of the AIMS 42001 Operational Delivery Team and proactively engage with peers and key stakeholders to ensure continual improvement.
  • Collaborate with AI Technical Specialists in performing assessments where deep AI expertise is required.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience 

Essential Criteria

  • Four years of industry professional experiences in Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Protection or Cybersecurity) with a minimum of 2 years industry experience in AI.
  • Knowledge on implementation, maintenance or auditing Management Systems used in industries (such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001).
  • Good knowledge of ISO 17029 (validation of claims) and statistic & population sample.
  • Understanding of the processes used for software development lifecycle.
  • Broader understanding of and experience in certification schemes, evaluation criteria and AI terminology.
  • Ability to interpret International and National standards & guidelines for the design, manufacture, and regulation of AI.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills. Excellent English skills
  • Previous experience in accredited schemes.

Skills and Abilities 

Essential Criteria

  • Team player, relationship building with clients and internal BSI teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, internally and externally and at junior and senior levels.
  • Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal).
  • Ability to communicate horizontally and vertically within the organisational structure, and externally with BSI clients.
  • Proven track record of managing difficult technical decisions and communicating them to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and explain legislation.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging situations whilst maintaining strict adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Working with clients, home based with up to 40% field-based travel to clients.

Qualifications:

Essential Criteria

  • University Academic degree qualification or equivalent (Bachelors minimum) in artificial intelligence, engineering, data science, robotics, automotive, cybersecurity, or similar.

Desired Criteria

  • Post graduate qualification in Artificial Intelligence techniques, Biometric Identification, Robotics or similar.

The salary for this position can range from $98,4000 to $135,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
