About the Role
TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to join our Finance team as an Assistant Controller.
This is a high-impact role for a senior-level professional with a strong background in accounting systems, financial reporting, and leadership within a $200M–$400M international manufacturing environment and/or Big 4 public accounting.
You’ll play a critical role in strengthening our financial reporting, internal controls, and tax compliance framework across the Americas (U.S., Mexico, and Canada) while partnering closely with senior finance leadership, plant controllers, auditors, and tax advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Lead core accounting functions across U.S. and international operations
  • Oversee monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP
  • Support consolidated financial reporting and complex accounting transactions
  • Provide technical guidance on intercompany and non-routine activities
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Serve as a key owner of ERP and financial reporting systems (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Drive consistency, standardization, and process improvements
  • Partner with IT and operations to enhance system capabilities
  • Ensure data integrity and reliable financial reporting
Tax & Compliance
  • Support multi-jurisdictional tax compliance across the Americas
  • Assist with income tax, indirect tax, and cross-border requirements
  • Partner with external tax advisors and auditors
  • Support transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and tax accruals
Audit & Internal Controls
  • Support the design and execution of internal controls
  • Serve as a primary contact for external auditors
  • Lead audit preparation and resolve findings
  • Promote a strong governance and compliance environment
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff across locations
  • Partner with plant controllers and regional finance leaders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Controller and CFO (Americas Region)
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in a mid-to-large international company ($200M–$400M) and/or Big 4
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • Experience in multi-entity, complex environments
  • ERP systems experience (SAP preferred)
  • Exposure to cross-border accounting and tax compliance
Preferred
  • Prior experience as a Senior Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller
  • Manufacturing or industrial industry experience
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews
  • Experience working with subsidiaries in Mexico and/or Canada
