About This Role

As part of Intersect’s Operations team, you’ll help ensure the performance, safety, and long-term reliability of utility-scale solar and energy storage assets at the Quantum I/II site. This role blends hands-on fieldwork with technical problem-solving, serving as a critical bridge between on-site operations and centralized Technical Services. You’ll build deep expertise in plant performance, maintenance quality, and contractor oversight while developing the foundational skills to lead a world-class power generation facility.

This role is designed as an early-career growth opportunity, with a focus on learning the full scope of site operations—from technical diagnostics to safety leadership and contractor management—while contributing meaningfully to plant reliability from day one.

This role is based in Haskell, Texas.

Team Overview

This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition. The Operations team ensures that our generation assets perform safely, efficiently, and reliably at scale. By combining technical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and strong field execution, the team maximizes asset performance while continuously improving maintenance strategies across the fleet. Joining this team means working cross-functionally with engineering, technical services, and external partners to deliver real-world impact and build the future of clean energy infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Drive Technical Insight & Reliability

  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts by gathering field data, downloading equipment logs, and providing site-level context to improve failure diagnostics

  • Act as the primary field liaison to Technical Services, identifying recurring equipment issues and contributing to fleet-wide reliability improvements

  • Coordinate and track specialized condition monitoring activities (infrared, ultrasound, NDT), ensuring findings are reviewed and resolved

Ensure Precision Maintenance Execution

  • Oversee third-party O&M providers, ensuring work aligns with contractual and technical standards

  • Perform quality audits on preventive maintenance activities, verifying accurate measurements and proper tool usage

  • Participate in pre-job planning with contractors to confirm technical scope, expectations, and critical quality checkpoints

Build Site Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with the Site Manager to develop capabilities in budgeting, safety leadership (HSE), compliance, and stakeholder management

  • Contribute to the development of standardized work practices and training materials to support future in-house technician teams

  • Help foster a safety-first, high-performance culture across site operations and contractor teams

Support Operational Readiness & Commissioning

  • Assist in construction-to-operations handoff activities, including inspections and commissioning validation

  • Ensure systems meet reliability and performance expectations at commercial operation

  • Contribute to establishing strong operational foundations for long-term asset success

What You’ll Bring

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering

  • 1–3 years of hands-on field experience with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Experience gathering and analyzing operational data from SCADA systems, inverter platforms, or CMMS tools

  • Familiarity with utility-scale power generation, energy storage, or similar industrial environments will help you ramp quickly

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information between field teams and engineering stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision, quality, and continuous improvement

  • Curiosity and motivation to develop expertise across multiple generation technologies, including solar, storage, and thermal systems

  • A safety-first approach and a commitment to building reliable, high-performing assets

  • Collaborative, growth-oriented work style that supports team success and knowledge sharing
