About the role 

Assistant Stewarding Manager assists in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the work of employees in the Stewarding Department

What you will do 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Assist in the selection, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and disciplining all employees in the Stewarding department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.

-Ensure the organization and sanitation of all kitchens, storage areas, employee dining room, waste receptacle areas, compactor room, carts, tables, and Stewarding Department equipment and machinery through constant monitoring and adherence to a vigorous cleaning schedule.

-Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control. 

-Ensure proper use and provide regular care, security and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the Stewarding Department. 

-Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. 

-Work closely with the Executive Steward to coordinate an adequate supply of china, silver, glass and other equipment used in service.  Work closely with the culinary and catering management team.

-Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.

-Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Wash china, silver, glassware, pots, and pans and distribute to operational areas.

-Assist with cleaning of kitchen and Stewarding Department areas.

-Provide physical maintenance of operating equipment.

What you bring 

-College degree preferred pr equivalent experience is required.

-Previous experience as an Assistant Stewarding Manager or equivalent supervisory experience is required.

-Requires working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.  

-Prior knowledge of dish machine, kitchen, and floor cleaning equipment is expected.
-Ability to read, write, and speak English.

-Bi-lingual skills are preferred.
-Must be able to obtain any required food handling or sanitation certifications required by local or state agencies.

-This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Day and evening shifts.
