ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive digital operations strategy and roadmap to deliver positive program results across all digital channels including app, website, mobile, email, push notifications, SMS, SEO and more. Ensure execution meets company goals for performance of these channels, including clicks, installs, redemptions, opens, customer database growth, site traffic, SEO rankings, and other key marketing KPIs.
  • Closely partners with Marketing Performance team to ensure digital channels are meeting or exceeding monthly and annual marketing valuation targets.
  • Provide strategic direction, digital channel expertise, and oversight for Tanger's digital products, programs, and assets from a marketing perspective. Serve as lead to agencies and digital vendor partners from a marketing perspective in partnership with Technology.
  • Define success metrics for digital channels. Regularly analyze performance data, engagement metrics, and benchmarks to derive insights, optimize strategies, and surface opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Drive and support channel acquisition growth of new customers and expand the lifetime value of customers across all digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain a strategy for ongoing development and backend architecture maintenance, martech utilization in partnership with Technology and improved organic optimizations for all digital channels. Align resources and define timelines with an eye towards prioritization and business impact. Publish these strategies through a separate development calendar for channel projects, that aligns resources, manages launch timelines, and sets expectations with stakeholders.
  • Partners with IT and analytics teams to implement ongoing enhancements, integrations, and infrastructure to scale database capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with National Marketing, Field Marketing and Customer Experience teams to ensure digital experiences support broader brand, marketing goals and objectives while improving overall customer experience on Tanger’s digital properties and platforms.
  • Working closely with Media, Customer Experience, and Insights & Analytics teams, develop strategies to gather positive reviews through various channels, both onsite and post experience. Including, but not limited to NPS surveys, reputation management review, app reviews, etc.
  • Provide guidance in user experience mapping and channel recommendations to optimize customer centric digital experiences across our various channels and platforms. Champion driving data insights into action on digital platforms and follow up with measurement and analysis to collaboratively create optimized outcomes.
  • Institutes data governance policies and controls for appropriate data utilization. Leverages analytics and segmentation capabilities of CRM system to drive tailored digital marketing efforts, promotions, and customer loyalty initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain clear processes and standards for intake of digital creative requests from internal stakeholders. Triage and translate requests into actionable creative briefs for the team, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign strategies. Serve as key liaison between stakeholders and creative team to facilitate seamless content development and implementation that resonate with the target audience and increase channel growth and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar for digital channels and initiatives that provide visibility into content timelines across all platforms. Use to align creative resources and workflows.
  • Manage and supervise operations of Tanger’s analytics and developer accounts within Google, Apple and other relevant platforms ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal functionality to support all digital marketing and channel strategies, including but not limited to QR code strategy, media agency pixel support.
  • Oversees management of personally identifiable information (PII) across digital platforms including websites, mobile apps, SMS messaging, and customer databases.
  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance related to PII, ADA requirements, consent management, and digital privacy regulations.
  • Mitigates risks related to data breaches, website disruptions, and improper use of customer data that could result in legal, financial, or reputational harm.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations in database management and utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate risks related to digital marketing efforts through vigilance and sound judgement.
  • Manage and communicate technical concerns and issues promptly and effectively to ensure optimal channel performance and risk mitigation.
  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for digital operations team. Must be data-driven and KPI focused. Establishes objectives, policies, and initiatives to advance digital capabilities and optimize customer experience.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of digital marketing weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Interacts regularly with senior leadership on digital operations strategy and emerging issues.
  • Exercises autonomous supervision of costs, methods, and staffing for digital operations.
  • Responsible for optimizing team performance and capabilities to deliver on digital strategy.
  • Manage digital marketing budget efficiently, ensuring maximum ROI on investments through data-driven decision making. Partners with Technology to review budgets and invoicing timeliness for shared resources.

  • Expertise in digital strategy and channel management - SEO, SEM, marketing automation, personalization, etc.
  • Ability to leverage prior experiences in a digital marketing agency or similar role and be responsible for high impact B2C and B2B engagement strategies across multiple digital platforms.
  • Experienced project and channel management that includes leading cross functional teams to execute digital marketing initiatives and go to market channel strategies.
  • Advanced analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and draw strategic conclusions.
  • Passion for data and marketing, thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and is committed to helping drive measurable marketing programs.
  • Understands the marketing technology landscape and can successfully evaluate and recommend marketing technology systems, leveraging for data quality, process efficiency and reporting needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 15 - 20 years of strategic marketing experience with strong online, digital and/or e-commerce operations.
  • Experience with analytics-based decision making where success measures include customer growth, conversion, and content quality.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing technologies and tools with experience working with internal and external development teams, and vendors that require competency around SEO/SEM; CRM/CDP operations; DAM, ERP, PLM systems and SDK, API integrations; compliancy standards for GDPR, WCAG 2.0, TCPA, CCPA and IP reputation monitoring.
  • Proven skills in marketing strategy, campaign management and data analysis/optimization

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with development teams and vendors.
  • Experience retail, consumer products, real estate, or related industries.
  • Project and product management experience and knowledge.
  • Background in digital marketing, digital asset management and general agency processes and workflows.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

TRAVEL:

  • This position requires up to 30% travel. Must be able to travel via commercial airlines. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and can operate own vehicle or rental car in a safe manner.  

HIRING RANGE DISCLIAMER: 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees. 

Hiring Range: $126,000- $194,000
