About the Role:
This position is a key part of the Novartis Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), driving creation of effective detection and protection logic for critical Novartis information assets.
The Associate Director acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical security teams, ensuring security initiatives are aligned with business needs for infosec risk reduction and communicated in clear, actionable terms.


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Cyber Defense and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business language and vice versa.

  • Closely collaborate with and oversee technical engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery of effective security use cases/technical rules within SIEM, SOAR and related tools such as DLP and Insider Risk Management.

  • Ensure that Cyber Defense activities deliver real business value in terms of measurable reduction in information security risks.

  • Support the team leader in stakeholder management, strategic planning, and communication of cyber defense priorities and risks.

  • Prepare high-quality presentations and deliver briefings to senior management and non-IT stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on cyber defense posture and initiatives.

Essential Requirements:
  • University working and thinking level, degree in business/technical/scientific area or comparable education/experience.

  • 6+ years in IT security with a proven ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with Microsoft security suite is essential (Sentinel, Purview DLP & Insider Risk)

  • Strong knowledge of cyber security operations, SIEM and orchestration/automation tools.

  • Experience in technical/business liaison or stakeholder management roles.

  • Skilled in preparing and presenting to senior non-IT stakeholders, excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a business focus.

  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework.

Desirable Requirements:
  • Professional information security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001).

  • Experience with process reengineering or workflow automation.
