The Mission: Why We Exist

Genomics is a science-led transatlantic TechBio combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. We are united by a single vision to help people live longer, healthier lives, using the power of genomics.

Genomics aims to help people live longer, healthier lives in two ways: super-charging drug discovery and development for novel treatments with our AI-enabled advanced genetic analytics platform, and by helping people understand their personal risk of common chronic diseases through polygenic risk scores - giving doctors and health systems the chance to get the right people into the right prevention, screening and treatment programmes at the right time.

Role Purpose

As our Associate Director/Director Business Development, you'll be a senior commercial force in the life sciences market - leading high-value, strategic new business for Mystra, our SaaS data and analytics platform, as well as our technology-enabled consultancy business . You'll engage at the most senior levels of pharma and biotech, building the kind of relationships and deals that define Genomics' trajectory.

This is a role for someone with deep commercial instincts, a genuine scientific grounding, and the confidence to operate as a trusted peer to R&D and data leaders at the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. You'll be a key senior individual contributor in a fast-moving Commercial team, and your success will directly shape the future of the business.

The Role

We are looking for a strategic New Business Hunter to drive enterprise sales into the Research & Development (R&D) arms of global pharma and biotech companies.

This isn't a standard account management role; we need a closer who understands the life sciences landscape, speaks the language of R&D scientists, and knows how to navigate complex, high-value enterprise sales cycles from first contact to signed contract.

A Day in the Life
  • Strategic New Business: Own and drive the most significant new commercial opportunities across pharma and biotech. You will build multi-stakeholder relationships at the senior and executive levels, leading complex, high-value sales cycles from initial outreach to contract close.

  • Executive Client Relationships: Invest deeply in understanding your clients’ long-term R&D and data strategies. You will position Genomics not just as a vendor, but as a critical scientific partner embedded in their workflow.

  • Market Leadership: Bring a sophisticated view of the life sciences landscape, feeding strategic market intelligence back into our go-to-market approach and directly influencing how we evolve our platform.

  • Sales Operations & Discipline: Maintain a high standard for pipeline hygiene, accurate forecasting, and strategic reporting to inform senior leadership and board-level decision-making.

  • Internal Influence: Act as the internal "voice of the customer." You'll collaborate closely with our Product, Science, and Marketing teams to ensure our commercial strategy is always grounded in delivering genuine scientific value.

Who You Are
  • Proven Hunter: You have a substantial, proven track record of net-new enterprise SaaS, digital health, or technology sales into pharma and biotech, with demonstrable success closing complex, high-value deals.

  • Pharma R&D Domain Expert: You have deep experience selling directly into Research, Discovery, and R&D departments inside major pharmaceutical companies. You navigate senior scientific and commercial stakeholders with ease.

  • Scientifically Credible: You possess a strong working knowledge of genetics or genomics-enough to speak credibly, confidently, and compellingly about what advanced genetic analytics can unlock for drug discovery.

  • Commercial Strategist: You think critically about markets, positioning, and competitive landscapes, bringing that strategic lens to every deal.

  • Autonomy: You are a self-directed, senior operator who thrives in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

  • Education: A degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field is required; an advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is a genuine asset.

Your Package

We are committed to providing a transparent, supportive, and rewarding work environment.

Compensation & Growth
  • Competitive Salary: Salaries are externally benchmarked annually to ensure top-of-market compensation.

  • Clear Career Path: A straightforward, open progression framework means you'll always know the path to promotion and how to achieve your next career goal.

  • Continuous Learning: Including external courses and a wide library of L&D materials, because your growth is our success.

Wellbeing & Time Off

  • PTO: 25 days vacation, plus 8 federal holidays, plus an extra 3-day company-wide shutdown at year-end.

  • Full Coverage: 401k, Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision plans, Health Savings Account (HSA), Life/AD&D, and Disability coverage.

Work Environment & Culture
  • Flexible Working: Hybrid Working.(e.g. From our RTP Office )

  • Truly Inclusive Time Off: Our 'Bank Your Bank Holiday' program allows you to exchange public holidays for dates that hold personal or cultural significance to you.

  • Vibrant Social Culture: From regular Town Halls and team picnics to organised sports events, our social committee ensures frequent opportunities to connect and celebrate.
