A day in the life.

As the Associate Director, Financial Wellness, you will provide support and enhanced value to participants of our Institutional Retirement Plan (401(k); 403(b); pension; non-qualified) clients, drive revenue and profitability, develop new business opportunities, and improve/maintain client relationships, all in an entrepreneurial environment.

Here’s how we define early success for the Associate Director, Financial Wellness

  • Support Compass’ Financial Wellness practice
  • Meet with retirement plan participants 1:1 to enhance their financial wellness and security.
  • Produce and facilitate group meetings for our institutional clients
  • Develop and deliver strategic participant education and communication programming – design annual education plans; prepare content; conduct individual & group meetings; and track all metrics
  • Retirement plan participant point of contact and retirement readiness coach– respond to participant inquiries; communicate with participants by phone/in- person while utilizing a variety of computer software & systems to assist in identifying action steps to reach retirement goals; serve as a retirement income specialist (retirement projections, financial plans, investment selection guidance, distribution planning)
  • Support the development and implementation of custom designed, full-scale financial wellness programs for our clients
  • Collaborate with the Director, Financial Wellness, Communications and Education Strategy on all financial wellness deliverables and programming
  • Implement the servicing of the executive financial planning program to existing Compass clients; and help cross-sell program to other MMA Mid-Atlantic clients
  • Project related support including content creation and development, process improvement, and documenting processes and procedures to create efficiencies across the team
  • Stay abreast of current market, industry and legislative issues & trends

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of industry experience
  • Series 65 registration or willingness to successfully complete within 60 days
  • A student of the industry with demonstrated confidence of topical knowledge
  • Willingness and capability to travel on a regular basis; work outside the scope of normal business hours as needed for client engagements
  • Experience successfully managing and cultivating business relationships with clients, plan participants
  • Enjoys self-motivating each day, organizing and prioritizing tasks and deliverables with minimal supervision and works well under tight deadlines
  • Possesses a drive for results through accountability and execution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – enjoys delivering lively, entertaining employee education meetings that are interesting, relevant, accurate and concise
  • Motivated self-starter and innovator, must enjoy working independently in a team environment
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred
  • Other industry designation(s) (CRPC, RIPC, AIF, CRPS, QPFC) preferred
  • Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Candidates with a strong track record of relevant skills and accomplishments are encouraged to apply, even if they do not hold a formal degree.
