Role Overview

PIMCO is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Performance Operations Associate to assist in the oversight of daily performance across hedge funds and other alternative accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving performance inquiries from internal stakeholders, and developing and deploying tools to proactively identify anomalies. Additionally, the role involves working with internal technology teams and outsourced service providers to enhance technological capabilities.  

Location

This role may be based in Austin, TX or Newport Beach, CA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor and validate portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis.

  • Ensure the accuracy of performance returns by coordinating with various teams.

  • Serve as a point of contact for performance-related issues, ensuring timely solutions.

  • Facilitate post-issue root cause analysis discussions to prevent future occurrences.

  • Identify potential problems and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Recommend and implement ways to streamline and automate reporting processes.

  • Document firm processes, performance calculations, and methodologies for internal training.

Position Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in fixed income with a focus on performance management or a related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree or progress towards CFA or FRM is preferred.

  • Understanding of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies.

  • Proficiency in SQL, and related tools for report building and data analysis is advantageous

  • Experience in providing exceptional internal customer service and collaborating with vendors.

  • Comfortable with formulas, performance measurement methodologies, and risk measures.

  • Experience in calculating, validating, and interpreting portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis, is a plus.

  • Self-directed with the ability to proactively identify and analyze problems.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with various departments, including technology, analytics, risk, operations, trade processing, and portfolio management.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 87,000.00 - $ 93,000.00
