Penrod is seeking an Associate Salesforce Data 360/ Marketing Cloud Specialist to join our growing Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud practice. This functional-technical role is designed for an early-career professional or a Salesforce Admin, Marketing Cloud consultant looking to evolve into Data 360. You will execute hands-on configuration and delivery tasks that a Data Cloud or Marketing Cloud Lead has architected and scoped: building data streams, data mapping, identity resolution rulesets, configuring calculated insights, activating segments, and building journeys and automations according to documented designs. This is a foundational delivery role: you work under the direction and mentorship of a Lead Consultant or Architect, building deep platform skills while contributing real, billable work on client engagements.

This role is a launchpad into Penrod's growing Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud practice within Health & Life Sciences. You will work directly alongside experienced Leads and Architects, build in-demand platform skills on real client engagements, and grow along a defined path toward Consultant and Lead-level ownership. We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and structured mentorship.

What you will do

  • Execute configuration tasks defined by a Data Cloud or Marketing Cloud Lead, including data streams, mapping from DLOs to DMOs, calculated insights, segments, and activation targets, following documented designs and specifications.

  • Build and test ingestion pipeline components, identity resolution rules, data spaces, and activation workflows under the guidance of the Lead Consultant or Architect.

  • Configure Marketing Cloud journeys, automations, and data extensions based on requirements and build plans provided by the Lead.

  • Support data quality validation and reconciliation testing across ingestion and query layers, flagging discrepancies and escalating issues to the Lead.

  • Execute test scripts during QA and UAT cycles, log defects, and track resolution through to sign-off.

  • Document configuration steps, build notes, and known issues to support Penrod's library of reusable implementation patterns and accelerators.

  • Participate in client discovery and working sessions, capturing requirements, documenting business processes, identifying data and platform needs, tracking decisions and action items, and supporting follow-up activities under Lead supervision.

  • Translate business and technical requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, configuration requirements, process flows, and supporting implementation documentation.

  • Develop an understanding of client business objectives and translate use cases into data requirements, audience criteria, segmentation logic, activation requirements, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Learn and apply Penrod's Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud implementation methodology, internal tooling, and accelerators.

  • Support pre-sales scoping by providing basic effort estimates for defined configuration tasks, as directed by the Lead.

  • Ensure all configuration work adheres to HIPAA data handling requirements relevant to HLS clients.

What we look for

  • 1-3 years hands on experience with Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data 360, CRM platforms, marketing technology, data/analytics platforms, or related technologies.

  • Working knowledge of core Data Cloud concepts (data streams, DMOs, unified profiles, calculated insights) or Marketing Cloud concepts (journeys, automations, data extensions), gained through training, certification study, or hands-on projects.

  • Basic proficiency in SQL or SOQL for querying, validating, and troubleshooting data.

  • Working understanding of relational data concepts, including tables/objects, fields, data types, primary and foreign keys, relationships, data mapping, and basic data transformation.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented processes and build specifications accurately.

  • Comfortable working under supervision, incorporating feedback quickly, and asking clarifying questions before executing ambiguous tasks.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for status updates, documentation, and note-taking in client sessions.

  • Hold a current Salesforce Certified Associate, CDP Accredited Professional, Data Cloud Consultant certification, Marketing Cloud certification (email specialist, Administrator, or Developer). Candidates without relevant Data 360 or Marketing Cloud certifications will be expected to pursue applicable Salesforce certifications as part of their professional development within the first 6 months of employment.

  • Hands-on exposure to Marketing Cloud Engagement capabilities such as Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Contact Builder, Data Extensions, audience segmentation, or SQL Query Activities.

  • Understanding of subscriber/contact management, consent, preferences, suppression, and marketing data governance concepts.

  • Exposure to APIs, SFTP, ETL/ELT processes, CSV/JSON data structures, or other common data integration methods.

  • Coursework, internship, or project experience in Health & Life Sciences.

  • Conceptual familiarity with HIPAA, HL7, or FHIR data standards.

  • Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets for QA tracking and test case management.

  • Exposure to a Salesforce consulting environment or systems integrator setting.

  • Demonstrated interest in growing toward a Data Cloud or Marketing Cloud Consultant or Lead role.
