JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

 

We're looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of our consumer-facing platforms — including our main company website and our service app, My Astro — while also supporting exciting AI-driven initiatives such as a centralised knowledge base. 

  • Support the development and enhancement of the My Astro service app and Astro's main company page, delivering features that improve the customer experience. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and contribute to design discussions. 
  • Write clean, maintainable code, document technical designs, and participate in code reviews to continuously improve code quality. 
  • Work with databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to support application data needs. 
  • Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket Pipelines to support testing and deployment workflows. 
  • Contribute to the development of AI-related projects, including a centralised knowledge base aimed at improving internal information accessibility. 
  • Write automated tests and participate in QA processes to ensure the reliability and quality of features you deliver. 
  • Learn and apply best practices around cloud resource usage and cost-aware development on AWS. 
  • You build it – you test it – you run it. 

REQUIREMENTS:

WHO ARE YOU? 

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience 

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are welcome to apply 

  • Familiar with one or more programming languages (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java) 

  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and how web and mobile applications are structured 

  • Some exposure to cloud services, preferably AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, CloudWatch) — whether through coursework, personal projects, or internships 

  • Eagerness to learn frontend and/or backend development in a production environment 

  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to work across teams 

  • Familiarity with agile ways of working and common tools such as Jira and Confluence is a plus 

  • Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and a curiosity to learn more 

  • A problem-solving mindset and a strong desire to grow as an engineer 

  • Nice to have: any exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or knowledge management tools
