Job Description

We are looking for an Associate software engineer to be part of a critical team. This role will work closely with Team Lead to drive technical decision-making and solutions for the team as they build onboard new merchants and partners. The candidate needs to have strong communication skills, understand complex problems, and be an energetic teammate. 

You will work closely with the engineering team to contribute the development of key innovation features, collaborating with peer teams to ensure your systems can interoperate effectively and cohesively to provide robust solutions that meet the needs of the business. You will report to a Sr. Engineering Manager for your capability area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience 
  • A minimum of 1 years of software development experience 
  • Analytical SQL Skills for Data Analysis in Postgres database 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical teams 
  • Dedication to a high quality in performing technical code reviews 

Nice to have: 

  • Exposure to microservice architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, SpringBoot; UI/UX using Angular 
  • Exposure to highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment 
  • Fair understanding of Scrum and Agile principles

This role is a hybrid role associated with our Dallas Office.

SquareTrade estimates the possible base compensation for this role, if hired in the Dallas, Texas, to be in the range : $70K - 120K
