CVS Health is recruiting for an AVP, Technology Product Management. As a key member of the Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology (“DDAT”) team, this role will join a dynamic organization committed to the acceleration of business growth, enhancement of the customer experiences, and enablement of operational efficiencies by powering CVS Health to be a ‘digital first, technology forward and data driven’ company. The AVP, Technology Product Management role reports to the VP, Client and Member Experience and Operations and will support the Pharmacy Services DDAT Product team. The Associate Vice President of Product Management leads a team of product management professionals and is responsible for advancing the product management practice, building a high-performing team, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of a technology product portfolio (for multiple technology product lines) . They are responsible for defining desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable technology solutions across the technology product lines within their scope that meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.

They facilitate a cross-functional product leadership team, closely with senior business leadership, technology and analytics partners, and other needed stakeholders, to ensure strategic alignment and a collaborative, customer-centric culture.

You will make an impact by:

Product Vision, Strategy, and Roadmaps

  • Ensures Caremark’s technology product portfolios have clear visions, strategies, and roadmaps that align to the business objectives
  • Makes decisions on investment priorities and develop business cases, in partnership with business, value pool, and finance partners
  • Aligns roadmaps, backlogs, capacity, timelines, and commitments across the respective product areas needed to deliver

Trend Monitoring and Product Performance

  • Sets and manages product line/portfolio objectives and key results (OKRs) to evaluate progress towards outcomes, aligned with business objectives
  • Ensures all products teams are using OKRs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other data as needed to understand and act on product health and performance
  • Accountable for successful new product launches; Oversees product launches, including beta testing, user feedback collection, and product documentation

Cross-Functional Teaming and Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitates cross-functional product leadership team at the product line(s) level, including strong partnership with business GM
  • Ensures business strategies and targeted outcomes are well understood and socialized to product teams
  • Understands market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs through partnership with business & customer insight teams
  • Accountable for the technology product teams’ delivery and final output to stakeholders

Grow and Develop the Team

  • Advances product management practices across the organization
  • Oversees the maturation of the product operations framework, and ensures all stakeholders internal to technology and the business are aligned and participating in product operations best practices
  • Develops, mentors and coaches team members to enhance their skills and career growth
  • Builds a high-performing team by conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and identifying opportunities for competency development and career growth
  • Champions product and agile mindsets and values
  • Creates a customer-centric culture where all teams understand the current performance of the product, opportunities areas and the north star vision, and are monitoring and proactively reacting to key product health metrics and communicating updates

Travel: 10%

Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 15+ years required experience as Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Consulting, IT, or related field. Previous experience in agile product development preferred
  • 15+ years required experience in software product management, with demonstrated success in building large-scale consumer-facing or B2B products
  • Experience managing large product management teams
  • High energy level; comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
  • Experience with the healthcare industry
  • Exceptional digital team builder and developer of direct, indirect, and non-report talent
  • Experience with software development in an agile environment
  • Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder client environment
  • Ability to drive cross functional teams to alignment in the midst of ambiguity
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills
  • Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills
  • Advanced communication skills influencing stakeholders across all levels
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, mediating disputes, and fostering a safe environment for everyone to bring their whole selves to work every day
  • Strong critical thinker who makes balanced, insightful decisions. They should display confident decision-making while considering not only their product component or experience, but also the broader impact on the business
  • Fact-based, innovative problem solver with the ability to proactively identify and address potential issues, evaluate alternative courses of action, and make sound management decisions
  • Establishes and maintains relationships across the senior management team, business units, as well as with external advisors and constituents
  • Passion and deep knowledge for the digital healthcare ecosystem and how innovations can meaningfully increase engagement and enable individuals to live a healthier life and/or colleagues to be more productive, while simultaneously driving the company’s financial objectives
  • Has the ability to push thinking; can make technical information understandable to the general population, while supporting ideas with robust business cases
  • Strategy development experience: strengths in structured and logical thinking, including ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and form a hypothesis against which to conduct requisite analyses and maintain a high attention to detail

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$185,400.00 - $375,950.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
