Key Responsibilities
- The Asst. Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for completing canape or cake requests, assisting the Hotel Inventory Manager in loading food and beverage stores, updating maintenance logs and technical defects, and invoicing picklists. They ensure all operational food and beverage areas are adequately manned to meet service demand, update Ocean Concierge with the correct food menu cycle, and set up food venues clean and ready for operation before guest embarkation.
- The Asst. Food & Beverage Manager takes full ownership of any negative service interactions and ensures a timely, effective, and personalized service recovery. They promote the integration of Princess Medallion Class products, services, and applications throughout their team to drive engagement and deliver a guest-centric experience. They drive the Service Excellence culture by continually reviewing guest and teammates' comments and feedback, circulating in assigned areas, and ensuring satisfaction.
- The Asst. Food & Beverage Manager also conducts and attends all Public Health as directed by the F&B Director, responsible for an inclusive culture, and promotes a positive change management environment. They embrace experience ownership across all areas and strive to maintain great working relationships with all onboard departments.
- The Asst. Food & Beverage Manager provides the Food and Beverage Director and Executive Chef with the daily food cost worksheet, assists the Hotel Inventory Manager with central store inventory counts, and works in collaboration with Specialty Dining Managers to ensure accurate record-keeping. They prepare and submit quality reports on quality issues and product specifications, take ownership of environmental policies and procedures, maintain records as required by the company and governmental agencies regarding public health and sanitation standards, and participate in pre-arrival inspections in any F&B outlet as directed by senior management.
- In summary, the Food & Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the food and beverage operations, maintaining a positive work environment, and adhering to company and governmental regulations.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- The ideal candidate should posses a diploma from a recognized Hotel Management School or University.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a Food and Beverage management role in a cruise ship operation with an international clientele. Additional experience in a large hospitality setting (luxury hotels or resorts) is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrated by their ability to lead by example and motivate others and understand, analyze, and interpret financial results.
- The ideal candidate should be service and quality oriented with a keen attention to detail and must have a strong command of the English language, along with good verbal and written communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will also commit to demonstrating empathy and displaying and delivering genuine care to our passengers and staff, and continuously surprising and delighting passengers while maintaining courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
