The Audience Engagement Team, which is under the umbrella of the Digital Content Team at AccuWeather, is seeking an Audience Engagement Specialist to develop and execute innovative distribution strategies that expand the reach and impact of our content across digital channels. This includes leveraging web and app push notifications, in-app messaging, SEO, and other emerging platforms.

As part of our growing Audience Engagement Team, the Audience Engagement Specialist will collaborate closely with data analytics experts, product managers, editorial teams, and meteorologists. Using data-driven insights, research, and audience data analytics, this role will help craft and deliver timely, relevant, and impactful messaging to our users.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with product, analytics, editorial, and meteorology teams to develop and implement data-driven strategies for audience growth and retention across organic search (SEO), browser notifications, and app push communications
  • Execute browser and app push notifications in collaboration with editorial and meteorology teams, ensuring engaging, accurate, and timely content delivery
  • Work closely with analytics and digital teams to meet KPIs
  • Produce and execute browser and app push notifications while collaborating with the editorial and meteorology teams to guide daily content curation and distribution
  • Develop audience engagement strategies aligned with brand voice, mission, and corporate goals
  • Create and implement A/B testing plans for push notification copy, creative, and timing to continuously improve engagement and effectiveness
  • Identify new growth opportunities and best practices by tracking emerging digital trends, competitive insights, and consumer behavior
  • Track new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital news trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insight
  • Collaborate with data analysts to share push notification performance insights and develop recommendations for optimization

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media, Journalism, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in user acquisition, audience development, audience engagement, or growth marketing
  • Strong knowledge of browser and app push notifications, in-app messaging, and SEO best practices
  • Experience designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests for digital campaigns
  • Familiarity with browser and app push platforms across iOS and Android ecosystems
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio, Chartbeat, Parse.ly, and Looker
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present insights to cross-functional teams at all organizational levels
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in or familiarity with weather forecasting, meteorology, or weather-related platforms is highly desirable
