Your primary mission is to rigorously test the FoxBot product, with a specific focus on autonomy. This is a significant opportunity to have an impact from day 1.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the autonomy team to verify system capabilities against product requirements and performance benchmarks.
  • Identify, design, and execute both real and simulated test suites.
  • Automate simulation test execution and reporting.
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders across the company.
  • Burn down reported issues from the field, analyze logs and identify root causes.
  • Investigate, debug, and troubleshoot issues related to product performance.
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to establish permanent corrective actions across hardware and software.
  • Understand autonomy software changes and proactively design tests and update simulation tools to properly evaluate the changes.
  • Use simulation tools to predict product performance across a variety of operating environments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and project managers to ensure that testing, integration, and overall development goals are met on time and to the highest standards.
  • Ability to travel and solve hard problems at customer locations.

What you’ll need: 

  • Demonstrated ability to test complex systems
  • Experience with general purpose programming environments, languages and scripting systems, Linux, git 
  • BS / MS in computer science, robotics, engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in  C++ and Python
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing 
  • Clear communication skills
  • History of taking personal ownership of complex problem solving 

Nice to have:  

  • Startup experience at companies that are scaling fast; an ability to build the robot as they ship it, as we say 
  • Robotics autonomy experience a plus
  • Familiarity with robotics or embedded systems 
  • Knowledge of software quality and testing principles
  • Knowledge of any Test management tool like Jama, Jira with Zephyr 
  • Experience with functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and stress testing
  • Experience with modern test tooling such as:
    • Cloud web services like databases, compute orchestration, etc.
    • Analytics platforms like Tableau 
    • Data visualization tools like Foxglove
  • Ability to navigate a large codebase and Bazel build system
