Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract and currently has an opening for a Cloud Engineer Architect Manager.   This position focuses on Multi Cloud Management and will coordinate across multiple areas as the program supports AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness. 

 

Location:   

These positions will be hybrid remote. Candidates will be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:  

We are seeking a highly capable Cloud Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing a team as well as contributing as an individual by designing scalable cloud-native solutions, leading development efforts, and ensuring best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security.  

 

  • Oversight: Manage the team ensuring the cloud infrastructure meets security, performance, and scalability requirements 

  • ​Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement  

  • ​Service and Integration: Implement, and deploy services using best practices for service delivery, incident management, and problem resolution, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs 

  • ​Collaboration: Work closely with operations, application development, and business area to ensure alignment of cloud services with overall requirements and objectives  

  • Manages engineering and architecture staffing including hiring and employee management while ensuring cleared and certified personnel are aligned to requirements 

  • Organize, direct and coordinate planning and execution of engineering activities, and review the work of subordinates, including subcontractors, to ensure that the schedule, standards, and reporting responsibilities are met. 

  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact program success, develop risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate resolution. 

  • Provides leadership during Transition-In, ensuring continuity of operations, minimal disruption to mission-critical services, and effective risk identification and mitigation. 

  • Setting team priorities, strategic vision, maintaining quality and product roadmaps.  

  • ​​Establish organization policies, standards, and engineering procedures.  

  • ​​Project Monitoring and Control: Tracking project progress, monitoring performance against established SLA’s, metrics, and taking corrective actions as needed.   

  • ​Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and requirements.   

  • ​​Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve engineering practices and documentation to enhance delivery quality and speed. 

  • Interacts with the customer directly and communicates concerns to Leidos project management and technical team members. 

  • Conduct design reviews, system integrations, and develop comprehensive as-built and runbook documentation. 

  • Implement and manage performance monitoring tools and processes to ensure optimal system performance and availability. 

  • Implement automation solutions, leveraging tools such as Ansible and various scripting languages, to streamline hosting operations and reduce manual intervention. 

 

Technical Leadership 

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions  

  • Present architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadership  

  • Mentor, guide and supervise development teams on cloud-native application design and deployment  

  • Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisions  

  • Act as the Cloud Manager to assess employee performance, hire new employees, and ensure compliance with corporate training requirements for Leidos employees 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelors and 8+ years or more of experience; Masters and 4+ years or more of experience. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. 

  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain Secret clearance required to maintain employment  

  • US citizenship required 

  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2) 

  • Certifications: One or more cloud certification 

  • Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing position  

  • Administration experience with cloud-based applications  

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.  

  • Experience with various cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings  

  • Experience onboarding customer log-data from cloud platforms to on-premise or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or Splunk  

 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with USAF Cloud One or Platform 1  

  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture 

  • Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle clouds 

  • 4+ years of prior experience managing/leading teams/projects 

  • Experience with multiple CSPs/Clouds  

  • Certification Examples - AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Azure Solutions Architect (Expert), MCSE (Server), Certified AWS SysAdmin, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Dev/Associate), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect

Pay Range:Pay Range $105,300.00 - $190,350.00
