Currently a candidate for a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with an accredited school in USA.
ResponsibilitiesAs part of our team, you will:
Learn all about Passive Optical Networks (PON), a cost-effective optical access technology that delivers broadband access to end-users.
Explore inventive ways to realize higher speed optical access networks to support the increasing bandwidth and stringent demands of future applications.
Research topics of interest include optical experimentation to characterize novel components, simulation of new access architectures, the use of coherent and digital signal processing in PONs, applications based on artificial intelligence, error correction schemes, sensing for PON and new sub-system architectures.

You will get exposed to:
Telecommunication systems and technologies
Experimental lab setups and high-end test equipment
Digital Signal Processing in the field of telecommunication (e.g., equalization, modulation, filtering, error correction, LMS algorithms)
Simulation tools and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++)
It would be nice if you also had:
