EkvahLabs is a Canada-based technology and gaming development company building next-generation digital experiences across blockchain, Web3, AI, and digital entertainment.

We develop products that combine modern software engineering with emerging technologies, including blockchain applications, digital asset platforms, AI-powered features, and interactive gaming experiences.

We're a team focused on solving challenging technical problems, building reliable digital products, and turning ambitious ideas into practical solutions.

Best-in-class design, engineering & intelligent software.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Blockchain Developer to help design, build, and maintain the blockchain applications and infrastructure behind our products.

You'll collaborate with frontend and backend engineers, product teams, and other technical stakeholders to develop smart contracts, decentralized applications, wallet integrations, and blockchain-powered features.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, making architectural decisions, writing high-quality code, and taking ownership of technical solutions from development through deployment.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy secure smart contracts and blockchain-based applications.
  • Build blockchain integrations and backend services using modern development frameworks.
  • Implement wallet connectivity, transaction processing, token functionality, and digital asset features.
  • Participate in technical architecture discussions and contribute to engineering decisions.
  • Identify and address security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges.
  • Review code and promote best practices for testing, maintainability, and software security.
  • Collaborate with frontend, backend, product, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Troubleshoot blockchain transactions, smart-contract interactions, and network-related issues.
  • Contribute to deployment pipelines, monitoring, and ongoing production support.
  • Mentor other developers and help improve engineering standards across the team.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience developing production-ready applications.
  • Professional experience building blockchain applications, smart contracts, or Web3 infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethereum, EVM-compatible networks, or comparable blockchain ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with Solidity and tools such as Hardhat, Foundry, Ethers.js, or Web3.js.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, or other relevant backend technologies.
  • Experience integrating blockchain functionality with APIs, databases, and frontend applications.
  • Understanding of smart-contract security, transaction execution, gas optimization, and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, technical ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DeFi applications, cryptocurrency exchanges, or digital asset platforms.
  • Experience building NFT marketplaces, token systems, or blockchain-based gaming products.
  • Familiarity with Layer 2 networks, cross-chain protocols, and blockchain indexing services.
  • Experience with wallet integrations, authentication flows, and transaction signing.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring.
  • Full-stack development experience with React, Next.js, and modern backend frameworks.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of completed blockchain applications.
  • Experience working in startups or fast-paced product development environments.

Compensation

We believe exceptional engineers should be rewarded for the value they create.

Annual base salary: $168,000 – $216,000 USD

Compensation is determined based on experience, technical expertise, location, and overall impact. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may receive performance-based bonuses, equity participation, or token incentives where applicable.

Exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.

Benefits & Perks

  • Remote-friendly working environment.
  • Flexible working hours and timezone coordination.
  • Opportunities to work on blockchain, Web3, AI, and gaming products.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Opportunities to influence technical architecture and product development.
  • Professional growth through challenging engineering projects.
  • An environment that values ownership, practical problem-solving, and continuous learning.

Location & Working Arrangement

Location: Ontario, Canada
Working arrangement: Remote-friendly
Timezone: Flexible, with reasonable team overlap
