Job Description

The Bloom Librarian administers the Bloom Library and performs related library services, working with a wide range of Bloom Library contributors and using the Bloom Library systems to organize and safeguard the integrity of the Library.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist patrons navigating and using the Bloom Library

  • Create Bloom Library collections for Bloom Enterprise clients

  • Create custom language page banners

  • Collaborate with the Bloom development team to ensure the smooth operation of the Bloom Library system

  • Monitor user contributions to the Bloom Library, and respond to reported concerns to ensure books in the Library do not violate Bloom Library policy

  • Provide input and guidance to Bloom Library contributors regarding copyright and licensing

  • Explain the use of Bloom Library services and provide information about Bloom Library policies

  • Classify books based on subject matter or other Library classification systems

  • Respond to customer complaints, taking action as necessary

  • Contribute to the development of Bloom Library policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills, especially via email

  • Comfortable with web-based content management systems and Windows desktop applications

  • Attention to detail

  • Also desirable: Understanding of literacy and ability to provide guidance on use of Bloom for literacy needs of readers for text, audio, vision impaired and deaf books.
