Manage daily departmental financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger; analyze revenues/expenses and reserves; assist budget development and effort/FTE reporting; supervise and mentor junior staff; handle procurement, expenditure approvals, and other fiscal activities.
Responsible for the daily financial reporting and analysis of a department. Assists in all fiscal activities including account reconciliation, budget planning, expenditure approval, procurement, financial reporting, general appropriations, endowments, and other funds.
Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
- Makes recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures.
- Oversees monthly account balancing, reconciliations and records management for department specific accounts.
- Researches and analyzes revenues and expenses to ensure appropriate recording; analyzes all prepaid expenses and encumbrances, and prepares regular reports; responsible for general ledger.
- Tracks and updates faculty clinical, administrative, education, grant-committed time, and salary and incentive information.
- Assists with effort reporting, FTE and time card accountability.
- Assists with preparation and development of the annual budget.
- Hires, supervises, mentors, evaluates and assigns work to junior staff.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of administrative compliance, financial reporting, and applicable business practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to influence budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others; attention to detail.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), databases and Adobe.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or other directly related field is required.
