Responsible for the daily financial reporting and analysis of a department. Assists in all fiscal activities including account reconciliation, budget planning, expenditure approval, procurement, financial reporting, general appropriations, endowments, and other funds. Responsibilities
  • Prepares monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • Makes recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • Oversees monthly account balancing, reconciliations and records management for department specific accounts.
  • Researches and analyzes revenues and expenses to ensure appropriate recording; analyzes all prepaid expenses and encumbrances, and prepares regular reports; responsible for general ledger.
  • Tracks and updates faculty clinical, administrative, education, grant-committed time, and salary and incentive information.
  • Assists with effort reporting, FTE and time card accountability.
  • Assists with preparation and development of the annual budget.
  • Hires, supervises, mentors, evaluates and assigns work to junior staff.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of administrative compliance, financial reporting, and applicable business practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to influence budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others; attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), databases and Adobe.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or other directly related field is required.
