General Summary
As a Business Affairs Administrator, you will be responsible for licensing content to and from third parties and processing royalties. This includes maintaining the royalty system data, communicating with licensing and royalty clients, and assisting in other processes in support of Business Affairs.

You will sit directly with the Business Affairs team, work in close collaboration with Production, Sales and Customer Service, Accounting and report to the Senior Manager, Business Affairs.
Core Functions:
- Match, process and reconcile third-party payments into the Alfred Royalty System (ARS)
- Maintains royalty payable data, client data, copyright notices, publisher splits and song information in ARS.
- Communicates promptly and professionally with royalty and licensing clients
- Receive and process, 3rd party license requests
- lyric/music reprints
- arrangement licenses
- photocopies and festival permissions
- sub-publishing rights
- MakeMusic Cloud licensing processing
- Copyright and Performance Rights Organization (PRO) Registration
- Copyright claim and publisher research
- Copyright enforcement, including DMCA/Cease and Desist communications
- Digital Millennium Copyright Act
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of:
- Basic knowledge of copyright and licensing as it pertains to the music industry
- General music information and concepts
- General business affairs practices and procedures
- Performing Rights Organizations, Mechanical Licensing Collectives and Publishers
- Detail-oriented and accurate with respect to contracts and licensing documents
- Must possess excellent analytical skills
- Ability to focus on attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to pivot quickly and handle multiple projects of competing priorities
- Degrees are not required and we value all forms of continued education including traditional four-year degrees, post-graduate degrees, associates degrees, bootcamps, online training, professional certifications, self-teaching and more.
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in royalties and/or licensing at a music publishing company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to consistently work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency in Google Workspace

Compensation
We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly compensation range for this role in Colorado is $22.20 - $36.99. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Each role at Peaksware has a defined salary range based on market data and company stage. We typically hire at the lower to mid-point of the range, with the top end reserved for internal growth and exceptional performance. Actual pay depends on factors like experience, technical depth, geographic location, and alignment with internal peers. This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands:
