Job Summary
Create Music Group’s Business Affairs team is looking for an intern to join and assist the Business Affairs team and A&Rs with agreement drafting, managing terminations, takedowns and conflicts, and organizing legal information. If you are interested in a future career in music law this is a great opportunity to learn and have a hands-on, introductory experience!
This is an unpaid, part-time internship designed for current students receiving college credit. Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S. and available for 20-25 hours per week over a 3–4 month term.
Responsibilities
- Creating documents on Salesforce
- Tracking deals across various departments
- Drafting simple forms and reviewing contracts
- Managing the material terms in client accounts
- Populating schedule information, and scheduling meetings for the team and other stakeholders
- Closing deals and creating abstracts for each deal
- Sending documents for execution and saving the same
- Organizing of deal terms, client information, and documents
- Requesting contracting information from artists, managers, and legal teams
- Coordinating final deal points with A&R’s
- Creating, and reviewing redlines and edits to agreement drafts
- Keeping track of deal negotiations
- Communicating with various teams across the company
- Managing projects within the Business Affairs team
- Managing the deal flow and following up on actionable items as needed
- Helping maintain Business Affairs deal templates including helping iron out errors in Salesforce
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in law school
- Needs to be organized and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Needs to have an interest in the legal field and eager to learn
- Self-learner
- Can handle high volume of projects
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Some music industry experience preferred
Pay Scale
- This is a for-credit internship.
