Business Analyst, Product Portfolio
Reports to: Sr Director, Portfolio & Transformation
Department: Ops Management
Why Join Omnicell?
Omnicell is transforming how healthcare technology is delivered—shifting toward SaaS-based, data-driven, and financially disciplined decision-making. We’re seeking a strategic, financially minded Business Analyst to help executive leaders determine where to invest, optimize, or divest across our product portfolio.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of Product, Finance, Strategy, and Data, translating complex product and usage data into clear financial insights that shape portfolio and capital allocation decisions. Your work will directly influence how Omnicell prioritizes investments, manages margin and risk, and drives long-term value creation.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, asks hard questions of data, and can turn financial analysis into executive action.
What You’ll Do
Purpose
Bring financial clarity and rigor to Omnicell’s product portfolio by connecting usage, revenue, cost, and margin—enabling leaders to make informed investment and tradeoff decisions.
Portfolio Financial Modeling & Investment Analysis
- Build and maintain end-to-end financial models that connect product usage → revenue → cost-to-serve → margin → ROI.
- Evaluate product-level economics, including profitability, scalability, and long-term value vs. liability.
- Model investment scenarios, tradeoffs, and sensitivities to inform decisions on where to invest, scale, fix, or exit.
- Partner closely with Finance to validate assumptions, pressure-test cost drivers, and ensure financial credibility.
Product Portfolio Scorecards & Executive Reviews
- Own product portfolio scorecards and dashboards used in Quarterly Business Reviews and executive forums.
- Ensure consistent definitions for financial and operational metrics (margin, contribution, cost drivers, adoption, ROI).
- Highlight performance risks, margin erosion, and underperforming products—paired with clear mitigation or recommendation paths.
- Ground portfolio discussions in financial impact, not just activity or outputs.
Hypothesis-Driven & Strategic Analysis
- Formulate and test hypotheses around product performance, cost drivers, pricing, and usage patterns.
- Identify leading indicators of financial risk, declining returns, or emerging opportunities.
- Surface insights that challenge assumptions and influence roadmap, pricing, and portfolio strategy.
- Translate findings into clear executive recommendations with defined tradeoffs.
Executive Communication & Cross-Functional Influence
- Distill complex financial and analytical insights into concise, executive-ready narratives.
- Communicate clearly with senior leaders who expect answers, not raw data.
- Drive alignment across Product, Finance, Strategy, and Data—often without formal authority.
- Build trust by making models and assumptions transparent, logical, and defensible.
AI, Advanced Analytics & Automation
- Leverage AI and advanced analytics to accelerate modeling, forecasting, and insight generation.
- Partner with Data teams to automate repeatable portfolio analytics and reporting.
- Improve speed, consistency, and scalability of portfolio-level decision support.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications (aligned with Omnicell template guidance)
- 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, product analytics, finance, or strategy roles.
- Strong background building financial models, product scorecards, and decision-support materials.
- Hands-on experience with AI-enabled analysis, automation tools, or advanced analytics techniques.
- Demonstrated success supporting QBRs, operating reviews, or executive-level business reporting.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets expertise; comfortable working with large, complex datasets.
- Excellent storytelling and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS/subscription economics, transformation initiatives, or shifts in operating models.
- Familiarity with scenario simulation, predictive frameworks, and strategic decision-support methods.
- SQL and/or BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- MBA or advanced analytical degree.
