We’re hiring a Healthcare Discovery Analyst to translate complex healthcare workflows into clear requirements and AI-enabled solutions. You’ll work directly with customers to understand current processes, identify opportunities for automation, design future-state workflows, and own requirements from discovery through delivery.
You'll partner closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Clinical SMEs, QA, Product, Engineering, and AI/ML teams. You don’t need to be a developer or ML engineer, but you should be technically curious, comfortable with AI-enabled products, and experienced using modern AI tools to improve how you work.
- Lead customer and internal discovery sessions to understand business objectives, workflows, pain points, business rules, exceptions, and success criteria.
- Translate findings into clear BRDs, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, current/future-state workflows, and solution mockups that communicate the intended experience to customers and technical teams.
- Document the client applications involved in each workflow, including what is read or written, and produce field-level data mappings to hand off to Solution Architects for integration design.
- Decompose complex healthcare processes (including areas such as UM, Prior Authorization, Appeals & Grievances, Care Management, claims, and clinical workflows) into clear, automatable steps.
- Work with Clinical SMEs to validate clinical rules, criteria, and edge cases on clinical use cases.
- Create process maps using tools such as Mural, Lucidchart, Visio, or similar platforms and drive open questions and requirements through resolution.
- Identify where rules, automation, and AI can each improve a workflow, and propose human-in-the-loop steps where judgment or review is needed, working with Solution Architects to finalize the approach. Understand concepts such as LLMs, OCR, RAG, extraction, and classification.
- Use various AI and LLM tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, workflow design, and other day-to-day work.
- Understand technical concepts such as APIs, SFTP/file exchange, integrations, and data flows well enough to collaborate effectively with Solution Architects, Engineering, and AI/ML teams.
- Work with Project Managers and Solution Architects to move solutions from discovery into implementation.
- Translate requirements into well-structured Jira tickets and recommend priorities based on business value, customer needs, dependencies, and project objectives.
- Define KPIs and success criteria for each workflow.
- Partner with QA to draft the test strategy and test cases, making sure everything in the BRD is covered, and support UAT and release readiness.
- Own your work end to end: surface gaps early, follow through on open questions, keep requirements current, flag requirement changes or scope creep so they can go through change control, and ensure stakeholders remain aligned.
- Handle client data responsibly in line with HIPAA and internal data-handling policies, using de-identified or synthetic data in requirements, mockups, and other artifacts.
- Lead and participate in customer meetings with both business and technical stakeholders, communicating complex concepts clearly and confidently.
- Produce polished, customer-ready documentation and effectively prepare deliverables for client sign-off.
- Manage multiple customer workstreams, meetings, requirements, decisions, and follow-ups in a fast-moving environment.
- 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in healthcare business analysis, consulting, healthtech, healthcare operations, implementation, health informatics, solutions analysis, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations and direct experience working on payer processes and translating them into clear BRDs for technical teams.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and safe handling of PHI in a healthcare setting.
- Experience gathering requirements and creating BRDs, workflows, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, or similar artifacts.
- Experience designing current-state and future-state workflows using process-mapping tools.
- Strong client-facing, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Jira and translating business requirements into development work.
- Practical experience using AI tools in professional work and curiosity about new ways to apply AI and automation.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A strong sense of ownership and structured curiosity - you ask the right questions, uncover what is missing, and drive ambiguity toward clarity.
- Comfort working in a growing organization where priorities evolve and processes are continuously improved
- Direct experience with UM, Prior Authorization, Appeals & Grievances, Care Management, claims, clinical documentation, or related healthcare workflows.
- Experience with AI-enabled healthcare solutions, including OCR, RAG, extraction, classification, or document understanding.
- Familiarity with FHIR/HL7, X12, or clinical terminology such as ICD-10, CPT, or SNOMED.
- Background in healthcare consulting, implementation, or customer-facing healthtech delivery.
- Experience building mockups or prototypes with AI tools.
- Experience designing human-in-the-loop AI workflows in a production setting.
